Saquish Rowing Education Society Inc meets almost every Sunday at 10 Cordage Park (behind the old Walmart) in Plymouth for leisure rowing and practice for upcoming events; new rowers are always welcome and are encouraged to to stop by and try Cornish Gig rowing before they commit to rowing.
As of June 01, 2008 we have been storing and at high tide launching our vessels from "The Pier at Cordage Park" or at low tide we will launch from the boat ramp on Water Street.
If there is no chance of launching from there we go to the Plymouth Boat Ramp on Water Street in Plymouth.
Most or (all) members should meet at Cordage Park prior to rowing and after rowing to set up and then secure the gigs.
Parking should be done on the west side of the Rail Road Tracks on the right side as you drive in, you can then walk over to the gigs.
If you want to give our rowing a try, you can try rowing up to three times with the team before paying the annual fee.
There is no pressure for a rower to compete, in fact some rowers just enjoy the Sunday rows and meeting new people.
Every one from elementary school kids to senior citizens are welcome to stop by and see if rowing is something they may like to do.
New programs such as rowing for the blind and handicapped are in development right now.
Contact one of our representatives below or stop by, Sunday mornings behind Cordage Park.
We allow a person to row up to three times before they make a decision to join without any monitory commitment.
It's easy and simple and there are many seasoned veterans to assist and make rowing fun for you.
If you would like to try, you must please fill out a waiver and health form before you row, which can be downloaded off of this page.
